(cid:863) People may choose to travel, find another career, write a book etc this has (cid:272)ha(cid:374)ged i(cid:374) today"s ti(cid:373)e people are still working very hard past forty to make ends meet: ego integrity vs. Despair (old age: stage in which they reflect on their past they reflect to find peace, continue to do what makes them happy (doing crossword puzzles etc) this is the ego integrity. Despair they ha(cid:448)e (cid:862)gi(cid:448)e(cid:374) up(cid:863) i(cid:374) a se(cid:374)se (cid:271)e(cid:272)ause to the(cid:373), the(cid:396)e is (cid:374)o lo(cid:374)ge(cid:396) a poi(cid:374)t i(cid:374) (cid:272)o(cid:374)ti(cid:374)ui(cid:374)g if their life is going to end. Self-actualization can be cultivated over time, can be pushed by a negative life event.
