Document Summary

In other words scientific method is a series of steps followed by scientific investigators to answer specific questions about the natural world. Scientific inquiry starts with an observation followed by the formulation of a question about what has been observed. The first step of the scientific method involves making an observation about something that is of your interest. This is very important if doing a science project because we want our project to be focused on something that will hold our attention. Your observation can be on anything from plant movement to animal behavior, as long as it is something you really want to know more about. Once we have made our observation, we must formulate a question about what we have observed. The question should tell what it is that you are trying to discover or accomplish in your experiment. The hypothesis is a key component of the scientific process.
