Wrote new theory which he called survival of the fittest . Wallace asked darwin to forward manuscript to lyell. Lyell arranged for paper to be presented alongside one of darwin"s. On the origin of species published in 1859: wallace published on the malay archipelago in 1869 and dedicated it to charles.
