Ecofeminism: global justice and planetary health by gaard and gruen. Feminist ethics is sometimes defined in terms of commitment to the following: Women are the moral equals of men. The experiences and perspectives of women deserve consideration. Traits traditionally associated with women are at least as important as traditionally masculine traits. Traditionally feminine ways of moral reasoning are often superior to traditionally masculine ones. Note: feminist ethics includes both descriptive and prescriptive (normative) aims. How things ought to be & how things are now. Central claim: industrial countries" activities that negatively affect the environment stem from the mutually reinforcing oppression of humans and of the natural world. Gaard and gruen"s project has several stages: Show that the underlying cause is the same that leads to the oppression of women (and thus is a feminist concern) Argue that a feminist framework is best for analyzing the problems.
