A syndrome (collection of symptoms) marked by a clinically significant disturbance in an individual"s cognition, emotion regulation, or behavior. The thoughts, emotions, or behaviors of the person to be impairing or distressing. Also known as: mental illness, mental disorder, psychiatric disorder. The biopsychosocial model can help us find different reasons for a disorder occurring.
