Information processing theory: how children process information-encoding, storing, retrieving, investigate the skills needed to solve tasks, pay attention, solve problems, memorize. Information processing theory: attention -- the focusing of cognitive resources. Attention that involves planning action and monitoring progress on a task. Ability to detect mistakes and compensating for them. Focused and sustained attention for a period of time.
