Used to be gender identity disorder: genderbread person 2. 1, know 3 or 4 ethical guidelines from article/ answers to dilemma. If helping someone with trans is (wrongfully so) against ones ethics that psychologists should strive for. Consult with other people in your agency. Refer them to someone who can help early on. Pg 838 stigma discrimination and barriers to care. Psychologist recognize how stigma, discriminations etc. effects the mental health of transgender individuals. Advocate social justice approaches- advocate on behalf of people who do not have resources/ cannot advocate from themselves.
