Only religion can get us to discuss/perform the act of virtue. Religion gets us to act; makes transition from knowledge to action. Religion = appeals to the imagination; poetic mythology. We need symbols/images/artifacts that are not metaphorical to give us substance in our political lives. Form = an abstract concept that applies to a variety of particular objects. Represents the ability of the human beings to subjugate nature. Nation-state emerged from territorial borders within which the nation is sovereign. Sovereignty = laws execution of laws, regulation of market. Cross border conflicts were settled by violence, only involved the combatants. Absence of a common authority to which these nation-states must be obedient. Nationality = common shared narrative among a group of citizens.
