Histamine is the most profuse and fastest acting allergic mediator. It is a fastest acting allergic mediator, potent stimulator of smooth muscle, gland and eosinophil. Histamine action on smooth muscle vary with location. In contrast histamine relaxes vascular smooth muscle and dilates arterioles and venule. More severe reaction such as anaphylaxis can be accompanied by edema. Prostaglandin are the powerful inflammatory agent, normally these substances regulate smooth muscle contraction. Food allergy- common foo d allergy come from peanuts, fish, cow"s milk, wheat egg, shellfish, and soya beans. Food allergy can also affect skin respiratory tract, gastro intestinal symptom include vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain. Other manifestation of food allergy include eczema, hives, rhinitis, asthma, and occasionally anaphylaxis. Classic food allergy includes in e and degranulation of mast cell, but not all reaction involves this mechanism. Confuse food allergy with food intolerance, many people are lactose intolerant, deficiency in the milk that degrade milk sugar.
