The rule of law vouchsafes (grants/gives) to the citizens and residents of the country a stable, predictable and ordered society in which to conduct their affairs: it provides a shield for individuals from arbitrary (illogical/random) state action. Principle generally held that nobody is above the law, and that the law should be predicted fairly and equally. The rule of law is only as real as we believe it to be. For example, england doesn"t have a judicial review or a constitution but the rule of law still exists: not a written rule or law but a belief that the legal system and how it works. 1 of the fundamental issues: people are not equal before the law in criminal law, ex.
