Judicial review may be defined as the power of the court to hold unconstitutional any law or official action that it deems to be in conflict with the basic law or the constitution . The power of judicial review was originated in the united states in the leading case of marbury v/s madison in 1803. The power of judicial review is clearly engrafted into the constitution of india vide article 13 that says: All laws in force in the territory of india, immediately before the commencement of this constitution in so far as they are inconsistent with the provisions of this part, shall, to the extent of such inconsistency be void. The scope of judicial review in our country is confined to the examination of the impugned matter on two courts: where the law under challenge fall within the competence of the authority that has framed it;
