EDUCATION Lecture 3: Module--Some Characteristics Influenced by Heredity and Environment
Document Summary
Understanding the effects of heredity (or nature) from those of environment (or nurture) has become the special focus of behavior genetics. Behavior genetics is the scientific study of how genetic inheritance (gentype) and environmental experiences jointly influence physical and behavioral development (phenotype). In fact, every characteristic of an organism is the result of the unique interaction between the organism"s genetic inheritance and the sequence of environments through which it has passed during its development. In this lesson, it is expected that you can: discuss the role of hereditary and environment in the development of children, explain how some characteristics are influenced by hereditary and environment. On a separate sheet of paper, make a family tree showing both maternal and paternal lineage. You can start from the grandparent of your parents to your existence. Obesity, or extreme overweight is a multifactorial condition.
