Lectures: mwf 12:00 12:50 am in chem e1-60. You may make an appointment if you wish. Materials: solomons, fryhle and snyder, organic chemistry and study guide 12th edition (recommended). An electronic version is also available at a lower cost: organic chemistry experiments, chemistry 164/261, by h. wan, fall 2019 winter 2020. Spring 2020 edition, h. wan. (required: laboratory report book, chemistry 261 by h. wan, fall 2019 winter 2020 spring. The organic laboratory manuals (items 2 and 3) can be purchased from the chemistry. Molecular models are strongly recommended for this course. Molecular models are available from chemistry undergraduate stores at chem w1-50. Students are advised to read all the information posted on e-class and the relevant sections of the lab manual before attending the first laboratory class. A pre-lab report must be completed before your lab class. The laboratory is an important component of this course and will account for 25% of your grade.
