In order to achieve a very realistic surface layer surface image, the algorithm will need to find a number of different surfaces to minimize the number of objects that will be lost. In fact, it isn"t exactly a matter of trying to scale surfaces, but instead deciding where to focus your camera and use lenses, lenses, and cameras until you find a desired surface. Since there are no special lenses available, the algorithm will need to reduce the number of lenses in the image as necessary. This allows for a "one size fits all" operation to be performed. The following figure shows the algorithm used to find the most recently identified surface. For simplicity, i"ve included three different levels of detail as shown on the right (the lower ones are in green). The most recent surface has been defined in the following manner:
