Up until this point all therapies, we have learned about have stemmed from white men from western countries (cisgendered men) Because they come from the perspective of one group of people they fail to take into account perspectives of individuals from other marginalized communities. Not taking these into consideration, means that those therapies. Need to take in the perspectives of diverse groups of people. Important that their perspectives are taken into account & that the therapies they engage in are useful to them. The personal is political means that people"s problems do not just exist in a vacuum; people"s personal problem are rooted in societal/political problems. Chronic disconnection: lack of energy, helplessness, confusion action) mutually-growth-fostering relationships. Intersectionalism: good feminist therapy is multicultural, you cannot separate someone"s identity (i. e. , gender & race)
