MGMT-6061 Lecture : M10 - The Agile Release Train
Document Summary
This paper describes the agile release train and its importance to an organization. Agile release train is part of the scrum team structure. Scrum teams are a very important part of a scrum organization, and its structure can greatly affect the success of an organization. The agile release train is basically the process where different agile teams working synchronously/asynchronously towards a common goal. The idea is to produce the bigger product in the fastest time. The term train is used metaphorically since all the teams need to put their cargo on the train on time, or else, the train departs either way. However, if a team miss the train they can use the next one because all trains come at allotted times. Agile release train can be defined as frequent, periodic planning and release where different teams with common goals have common iteration lengths. It is a concept which has multiple levels of details and includes portfolio and release levels.
