Health promotion is any planned combination of educational, political, environmental, regulatory, or organizational mechanisms that support actions and conditions of living conducive to the health of individuals, groups and communities. Knowing that everyone has a degree of health that will exist along a continuum promoting health has to focus on enhancing capacity for living well. Health promotion encourages movement towards better health. Health promotion takes into account that human behavior is not only governed by personal factors (eg: knowledge, expectancies, competencies and well being) but also by structural aspects of the environment. The success of a health promotion program is usually linked to the planning of that program. If you fail to plan, your plan will fail .
