Document Summary

Every continent, country, family, and individual struggles with different problems. However, there is one that involves everyone in the world: poverty. This problem affects millions of families, depriving them of the ability to reach happiness. even though we keep trying to decrease poverty, many factors could take away progress, just like the covad-19 pandemic is doing. There are specific ways to eliminate this issue, and one of them could be by considering the ethical theory of utilitarianism. Around the world the amount of people living in extreme poverty has decreased from 36% in 1990 to 10% in 2015. The covid-19 crisis, on the other hand, has the potential to raise world poverty. This would be the first time in thirty years, since 1990, that worldwide poverty has risen. More than 10% of the world"s population continues to live in severe poverty, unable to meet even the most basic necessities such as health, education, and access to clean water and sanitation.
