The chemical structure of fats and oils are composed of ester of three fatty acids and a glycerol. Fatty acids are one of the main type of fats and oils. Fats and oils are an essential component of a healthy diet. They also function as storage lipids in plants and animals, the fat stored under the skin serves as an energy storage and temperature regulator. Animals in the arctic and antarctic appears bloated because of high triglyceride in them. Waxes is a simple lipid with an ester of fatty acids with long chain alcohol (13-21 carbon atom). They are often found in nature preventing plants from losing moisture. Bee"s wax, wool and cholesterol are one of the most common type of wax.
