Succeeded by his cousin, baldwin ii, count of edessa. He was king of jerusalem and count of edessa. Baldwin ii proved a great soldier and cunning diplomat. After being crown as king, egyptians and syrian muslims unite to fight him. Baldwin ii marches out to fight them. Both armies camped and prepared for battle but no battle happened. Kingdom of jerusalem was saved without a fight. Steady decline of the crusader states in holy land.
