Document Summary

They are part of the platyhelminthes class and fall under the animalia kingdom. In order the classification goes; animalia kingdom, eumetazoa, Bilateria, protostomia, platyhelminthes, turbellaria (meyers et. al 2022). 1b) many of the turbellaria species are marine or benthic, but they could also be in freshwater areas and terrestrial areas. They usually live in damp mild climates and tropical areas on land (meyers et. al 2022). 1c) some turbellaria are used in labs often. The colorful aquatic turbellaria are being used and traded in aquariums. Other than this, there is little to no ecological role that turbellaria hold in the human world (meyers et. al 2022). 1d) turbellaria are flat and have a higher surface area. Usually, they move on a mucus trail by moving on waves of cilia. Fewer species can move by constricting muscles and releasing the tension to move forward.
