Document Summary
Perceptual sets/expectancy: the tendency to perceptive things a certain way b/c previous experience or experiences influence those perceptions. Relative permanent change in behavior or thought due to an experience or practice (something you"ve learned to do ie playing piano needed to practice and put effort into it) Ivan pavlov: a russian psychologist, discovered the foundation for reflexes/ classical conditioning. Learning to make an involuntary response to a stimulus other than the normal/natural stimulus would normally produce the response. Unconditioned stimulus = natural occurring stimulus that leads to an involuntary response. Unconditioned response = involuntary response to an unconditioned stimulus. Natural stimulus / conditioned stimulus= no effect on the desired response. Conditioned stimulus = becomes able to produce a learned reflective response by being paired with the original unconditioned stimulus. Conditioned response = learned/ reflective response to a conditioned stimulus.
