Document Summary

This is the normal operating region of a transistor when used as amplifier in this region will be inverse biased. When the emitter current is zero collector current is not zero and there will be a very small current in the collector this is the reverse leakage current. The region where both the emitter base and the collector base junction remain forwards biased is known as the saturation region of the transistor. This region is located to the left of the line. The region to the right of the line and below the curve . the charectristics of the curve passes through origin and there will be an appreciable collector current. When a transistor operates in this region its collector as well as emitter junction are forward biased under this condition the collector current is independent and it doesnot depend upon the input current.
