Document Summary

The circuit that is used to change the shape of an input signal by removing clipping a portion of it without destroying the remaining part of the wave is called clipper. Due to polarity switching property of the diode. It can also be employed in dipping circuit clipping circuit which employ diodes are known as diode clippers. The clipper circuit that remove the positive half cycle of the input signal is called positive clipper. In shunt positive clipper the diode is connected in shunt and the out is taken across. During positive half cycle of the input signal the conducts and act as a short circuit hence there will be no voltage drop across diode. During negative half cycle of the input voltage the diode doesn"t conduct and act as open circuit thus the negative half cycle of the input voltage appears at the output.
