They think they are doing well even though they actually did poorly. Actual achievement much lower than perceived academic achievement. International comparisons of educational disadvantage by 10th grade. Difference between highest achieving students and low achieving students disparity. Overall per pupil spending disadvantages in the us. Learning countries in terms of education funding. Us spends the most, are the leading country in educational funding, but something we are doing is not promoting achievement because we are not getting results.
