A coma is a state of unconsciousness, where a person is unresponsive and cannot be woken. A person who is in coma is alive but unable to move by self. In most cases they can"t think, speak, or respond to their environment. Primary functions such as breathing and blood circulation are altered and they can be supported with medication or other life supporting devices, such as airway pressure or mechanical ventilation. * traumatic brain injuries, that are caused by accidents or acts of violence.
