Im doing some integral calculation in my textbook, but imstruggle to this task. Im only getting the wrong answear so ifsomeone who can show me how to do this task it would have helped mea lot.

Im not sure what I am doing wrong in these problems... I think the person that explained to me how to do them, didnt teach me the right way. My answer for problem 38 was (35/25, 23/25,89/25). That ithat answer doesnt help me find an answer for 39, so it makes me wonder if my answer for 38 is wrong all together. can someone please explain how to do these two problems?

I need help with this problem. The solution has been posted by my professor, but I'm still not understanding how to know when to do certain things and don't follow some of the logic leaps in his solution. I understand that he is showing that the two conditions are being met, but...
1) how do you know that bn is decreasing?
2) why is bn then differentiated?
3) how do you know that f'(x) < 0?
Also, I can see that he applied the integral test to show that the series is divergent, but can I see a workthrough of that so that I can show it on my test if I get a similar problem?
Please try to keep the logic leaps between steps to a minimum as I am having trouble following the logic of this problem.
