Marketing: What can I comment on this post?

In the last decades, the successful company creates customer value through three disciplines -- -operational excellence, customer intimacy, and product leadership. They normally compete in one out of the three and keep the rest two on the industry standards. And some companies can even compete in two out of the three.

Once you decide your focus area, it means the same that you already select your customer because choosing disciplines or choosing customers are the same thing.

Most companies failed because they are too aggressive in responding to the change in the market so that they lost their value proposition. However, that does not mean companies that are to be successful do not respond to change in the market. On the contrary, they just keep looking for new standards, redefine what is possible and the competition at their own pace while keeping their own identity.
