VW has had a major push to sell diesel cars in the US, backed by a huge marketing campaign trumpeting its cars' low emissions. The EPA's findings cover 586,000 cars in the US only, including the VW-manufactured Audi A5, and the VW brands Jetta, Beetle, Golf and Passat. But VW has admitted that about 9 million cars worldwide are fitted with the so-called "defeat device".

Assume that all these cars were produced in Germany. As result of this scandal, Americans have decided not to buy any cars manufactured by VW.

This week's topic has been at the forefront in the last couple of Presidential elections and of course recent elections and upcoming administration. As you consider this topic, be sure to focus on the question at hand. As a society, we are presented with several issues relating to immigration into the United States. These range from illegal immigrants, impacts of immigrants entering the United States and the impacts on our current economy, insurance costs, etc. This week's clip highlights some compelling arguments and points; all of which must be considered as a policymaker. As in previous weeks, consider the various stakeholders and their position and interest as it pertains to the topic.

You may consider this issue from a local, national, and global perspective. Consider the difficulty in setting policy and establishing laws which target to do what is best. As with most issues, some will benefit, while others benefit less
