3^5/2 - 3^3/2 =? The possible answers are 1, 2, 3, 3^2, or 2(3^3/2). I tried solving it by making each number a square root and then subtracting the exponents, to come up with "3" as the answer, but I thought I couldn't subtract exponents this way? If someone could explain HOW to come up with the correct number, I would be very grateful. Thank you.
