Please help solve for X
5(2x)/4=80
I know the answer is 6 but please explain how you got 6 fromthe last line of the equation
5(2x)=320
5(2x)=5x64
5(2x)=5(2^6)........how do you get 6 from this last part ofthe equation?

X Company currently buys 8,000 units of a part each year from a supplier for $8.90 each, but it is considering making the part instead. In order to make the part, X Company will have to buy equipment that will cost $150,000. The equipment will last for 6 years, at which time it will have zero disposal value. X Company estimates that it will cost $41,650 a year to make the 8,000 units.

What is the approximate rate of return if X Company makes the part instead of buying it from the supplier?

Current operating income for Bay Area Cycles Co. is $28,000.Selling price per unit is $100, the contribution margin ratio is20%, and fixed expense is $112,000.

Required:
1. Calculate Bay Area Cycle’sbreak-even point in units and total sales dollars.

OK I have this part correct. The break even point inunits is 5600 and $560,000 in dollars.

2.

Calculate Bay Area Cycle’s margin of safety and margin of safetyratio.

This is what I do not undersand; Margin of Safety =Total Sales - Break Even Sales. I do not know how to get "totalsales" and complete this equation. Please explain. Thankyou.

I just bought IBM stock 1 for 175, i havent sold anything causei bought it now and some things discussed in the classroom arelisted below.

I purchased 10 stocks from DeVry Education Group (NYSE: DV) at$33.65 per stock. This was a very exciting exercise to do sincethis was the first time investing in stocks, but I still have lotsto learn about buying stocks from different companies. Even thoughthis is a free contest, whenever you invest in the stock of apublicly traded company, you are literally buying part of thatbusiness. I used a combination of both fundamental and technicalanalysis in deciding which stocks to buy and how many. Forfinancial analysis, I checked the DeVry Education Group's financialstatements that are filed quarterly, especially their quarterlyearnings, which took me a while to get that all that information,but finally got what I wanted. For the technical analysis, that wasnot difficult at all as I checked the DeVry Education Group' sstock price and the charts, from the charts I could see the stocksgoing up from March 2016, and that made me want to purchase thosestocks.
