Peter Penguin (12 kg) is standingat the top of an icy hill (H) overlooking an obstacle course. Heslides down the first hill and skids across a rough patch of snowyice(with coefficient of friction=.4 for 5m). After sliding up asecond incline (8 m high) he sails over a gap (10 m) and lands onthe next hill (10 m high). Just as he reaches the base of that hill(with coefficient of friction =.1 for x m), his friend (12 kg)tackles him from above. Together they crash into a snow bank thatacts like a spring (k=360 N/m). The angle of the first snow bankwith the horizontal is 30 degrees.
