A system of gases begins at pointp1v1and is transformed to the end atp2v2 on a pVplane. Three different paths areused for the transformation of thegases (a, b, c). The diagram isshaped like an eye with a linethrough the middle. The line throughthe middle is labelled b andthe top rounded part is a and thebottom rounded part c.p1v1 is at the point ofthe eye near thebottom and p2v2 is at thepoint near thetop.)
Assume 25 J of work is done on the gas by an externalsourcealong path a and 45 J of heat is added to the system. 20 J ofworkis donw along path b.
***If these are possible***, (if not possible pleasestatewhy)
a) Calculate the change in internal energy along path a.
b) Calculate the change in internal energy along path b.
c) What is the heat supplied along path b.
d) Calculate the change in internal energy, heat supplied, andwork done along path c.
Thanks so much in advance. Not sure where to go withthisone.
