Problem 9-60a:
A grinding wheel is initially at rest. A constant external torqueof 47.2 N· m is applied to the wheel for 19.8 s, giving the wheelan angular speed of 595 rev/min. The external torque is thenremoved, and the wheel comes to rest 106 s later. Find the momentof inertia of the wheel.
I thought 595 rev/min= 62.31rad/s = ang velocity
ang. acceleration (a)= 62.31/19.8 = 3.15 rad/s^2
and t= 47.2 N*m
t = I*a
47.2 = I* 3.15, I = 14.99 kg*m^2 .... but apparently I'm wrong...
