Photon Ranking Task
The following six particles (with rest energy and kinetic energy as indicated) are collided with their antimatter partners traveling in the opposite direction with the same kinetic energy. The resulting matter-antimatter annihilation produces a pair of photons traveling in opposite directions.
Part A
Rank these particles on the basis of energy of the photons they create.
Rank from largest to smallest. To rank items as equivalent, overlap them.
Part B
Rank these particles on the basis of speed of the photons they create.
Rank from largest to smallest. To rank items as equivalent, overlap them.
E_0=200 MeV/K=400 MeV
E_0=400 MeV/K=200 MeV
E_0=800 MeV/K=100 MeV
E_0=100 MeV/K=200 MeV
E_0=100 MeV/K=400 MeV
E_0=200 MeV/K=100 MeV
