Most common form of brain scanning is fmri. Goal of behavioral neuroscience is to understand this relationship. / have people do homework in the classes they like and classes they do not like. / force people to exercise and see how focus is measured. Send messages from one part of the brain to the other. Get information from the sense organs and bring such information from the periphery into the central nervous system. Bring information from the central nervous system out to the periphery. Process this information in the central nervous system. We have the greatest number of these. Have multiple projections coming off of the cell body. Spinal motor neurons get information out to the periphery. Pyramidal cells found in cerebral cortex and hippocampus. Have an apical dendrite (one long projection coming off of the cell body) and are excitatory (tell cells to fire more messages). Purkinje cells are located in the cerebellum.
