Intra- & intercultural communication: a world of differences, a world of gestures. Human communication: consists of verbal (or explicit) and nonverbal (or implicit) behaviour. The paradox is that majority of messages they we convey are implicitly. However, we pay more attention to explicit communication. Misunderstandings can occur in explicit communication because they can lack implicit cues, for example, in text messages, emails, etc. Much of the human communication is automatic and is learned overtime through our exposure to culture. We are very fluent in verbal and non-verbal communication methods. Very close ties between: because of very strong ties there is much shared information that guides individuals. behaviour, clear and appropriate ways of behaving, this information is widely shared and understood, does not need to be explicitly communicated.
