Child abuse has become more serious over the years with a total of 165,673 referrals about possible abuse in 2012 (ontario associations of children"s aid societies 2013). This number is very large and makes one realize that action needs to be taken to help the vulnerable children and families (ontario associations of children"s aid societies 2013).
