Some theories i will be discussing include the works of emile durkheim"s anomie and. I am researching theories from durkheim"s groundbreaking sociological book titled le suicide. He says death resulting directly or indirectly from a positive of negative act of the victim himself, which he knows will produce this result. within these pages, three significant types of suicide are discussed. Egoistic suicide, which is described as a situation where an individual lacks social integration with others in their society. Durkheim provides an example of this when he focuses on unmarried people, in particular men. Without conforming to marriage or another social norm, individuals feel less of a connection to their society. Feeling disconnected to other people within a society can very much cause higher suicide rates. The second type of suicide addressed in le suicide is called altruistic suicide.
