Innate perceptual organization in the brain y y this is what we are/what we behave-reflect natural behaviour of species. Sensory gating- melzak y 1 sense modality could block out another-led to audio analgesia: eg. Root canal- instead of giving drugs, music could block out pain from dentistry according to melzak: eg. Hernandez-peon in 1956 ran experiment where cat listened to metronome, recordings coming from cats head from auditory cortex. Infront of cat is big bell jar with mouse in it then activity in auditory cortex stopped b/c is focussing on mouse now. cat does hear, clicks go deeper in auditory system which allows them not to be found. don t make way to highest auditory sensor, also process much deeper. y colour corresponds to wavelength. y roy g. biv-adheres to the colour wavelength measure. y albinos have clear iris- redness is blood.
