Victim reports: sexual assault: 2% of canadians, child sex abuse: 20% girls, 5-10% boys. Uniform crime report (ucr) survey: 73/100, 000. Sex offences account for 1% of all offences. 14-15% of csc population are sex offenders. Sex offences have the highest level of underreporting. 1 in 10 report: lowest rate in incest sexual offences, violent sexual assaults against strangers have the highest rate of reporting. The victim thinks they would be blamed. Could be dealt with in another way. Rape myths: minimize the responsibility of the rapist by blaming the victim. R. v. kenneth rhodes (2011: justice dewar: how they dressed was a mitigating factor, anticipation of sex by rhodes wasn"t groundless.
