Complex and big however they are a fixed target. People and organisations work to solve problems. These wicked problems are each one manifestation of bigger social trends and shifts. We need a way to conceptualise these bigger social trends and shifts. According to john naisbitt are large, transformative processes with (cid:1684)global reach, broad scope, and a fundamental and dramatic impact ((cid:1688)introduction(cid:1689) 2017). Six megatrends: evolving communities, rapid urbanisation, empowered individuals, economic power shift, resource security, impactful technologies. Lecture 2: the nature, role and purpose of business. Business organisation: an entity formed for the purpose of carrying on commercial enterprise. Such an organisation is predicated on systems of law governing contract and exchange, property rights, and incorporation. Company: an organisation that sells good and services in order to generate revenue. Corporation: a large enterprise or group of enterprises who is united under a single organisation. Business: a particular legal entity that purchases and sells goods and services.
