Temporal - perception and recognition of auditory stimuli, memory, speech memory, speech. Cortex is highly wrinkled - makes brain more efficient (increase sa of brain & neurons in it) Left (logic abilities) & right (creativity) hemisphere divided by a deep furrow. Corpus callosum is bundle of axons which connects these 2 hemispheres. Frontal lobe - sudden, dramatic change in personality. Understanding space and how to move in it. Gyrus - part of brain that bulges out. Has more neurons than rest of brain combines. Thalamus: sensory relay to cortex (touch, taste, sleep) Hypothalamus: hormonal regulation and motivational control (feeding and sex) Voluntary movement (select which movement is appropriate at the moment)
