Paleontological resolution: 240-66 mya, populated every continent, 99% of all species become extinct, 5-50 mill species on earth today, <1% of species are fossilized. Due to either being soft bodied or not in the right environmental conditions. Some soft bodied organisms may leave fossilized imprint. Only 10% of fossils have been discovered. Ordovician: a trace fossil, imprint or impression of an organism, period during paleozoic era, increase in multiple feeding levels above and below sea floor occurring during this time period. Siphons marine filter feeders use these to draw and expel water. Plants: were largely built up during paleozoic mesozoic and tertiary. Organisms that build reefs have evolved over time: dinosaurs ate gymnosperms then angiosperms. Angiosperms have seeds surrounded by ovule (maples) Amniotic egg: never ate grass, evolution of egg with a shell for species that move to land to give birth.
