(you must check carleton"s web page later to determine the location of the exam. ) On the exam you will be asked to explain, describe or evaluate a number of (about 6-8) different concepts, theories, doctrines, arguments or issues that we have discussed in the latter part of the course. Each of your answers should be about to 1 page in length (about 200 words), but, if you find it necessary, some could be longer. There will be some choice but not too much (perhaps 8 out of 10). The questions will all be selected from the list below, and the duration of the exam will be three hours. The exam is worth 40% of your final grade, and will be closed-book. Give three examples of such categories to illustrate. Ex: concept of existence, reality, negation, unity, substance, property, cause and effect, possibility, and necessity.
