Sculptors from aphrodisias are found across the empire, in high demand. Aphrodisias very well preserved, abandoned in 7th century ce and never occupied again, city centre has been excavated largely. A large monument set up to the imperial cult, started under augustus. Many of statues found in original place with original statue bases.
