Women were still viewed as mothers and in the domestic sphere during ww1, with the queen herself saying like, other mothers throughout the. Empire, the queen has bravely sent her sons to strive for the cause of justice" (1916). Women were bravely sacrificing their sons, husbands, brothers etc for the cause of the war, to fight against evil and they hope they return. They were too weak before to be in engineering jobs or working in factories, it wasn"t the place for delicate women. Women still being viewed as weaker" so employers were justified in paying them less than the men got paid, even though they were working the same job and producing the same amount of product.
