Heat inactivates the protein inhibitors and aqc & anf factors. In younger animals, the storage proteins can cause allergic reactions which affects nutrient absorption. Since sbm is low in met which is a very important aa for feathers, poultry should be fed sbm, also contains short chain polysaccharides which poultry cannot handle. Swine (and other monogastrics), sbm is the best plant protein source that can be fed although it needs to be processed as it is high in phytates.
