What problem areas exist in this model of community corrections: not taking ownership may be a step back, expectations is difficult in this process because you don"t know what you will get. Both were found guilty and sentenced to life in prison and no chance for parole for 30 years. Mother felt that justice had been done but she did not feel satisfied. The parents did not want to be trapped in their negative emotions towards the offenders. Victim offender mediation is to let the victim gain answers and let the offender know what it was like to be a victim. It allows the offender to know the that the victim is just not a target. They met for their meeting (parents and guy) and they shared the information about their memories of their night and their emotions. The daughter was frustrated that he did not take any responsibility and saw himself as a victim (changing his story a bit).
