Think about a boxer in a ring they won"t be charged with assault. The law is a social institution that is constantly influx. What affects our perceptions of crime, is not exactly what is going on. Rules that help shape our relationships with other people and prevent us from conflicts. Code of conduct: what is inappropriate and appropriate behaviour. Dynamic: code of principles on behaviour- customs, morality, our conscience. Law is meant to control our behaviour and carry out social welfare. Law is not just the criminal code of canada, it is much more holistic. A set of rules that guides conduct (behaviour) in society. It is a formal mechanism of social control. It is a method of formal social control are particular ways of establishing and maintaining social order.
